"of sleep undisturbed"
"financially solid or safe"
"holding accepted opinions"
Of all the words I found associated with this word, the one that really impacted me was, "uninjured". When I think of all the things that have occurred in my life to injure me, the idea that I could consider myself "uninjured" empowered me. That means that in spite of whatever we may have gone through, we can still declare that the situation did not to take us out. If it had, you wouldn't be reading this book. The enemy gave it his best shot, but you are still standing.
Each of us have so many opportunities to consider ourselves a victim. If you haven't just live a little longer. Somewhere along the line, someone is going to betray your trust, someone is going to disappoint you--you may even disappoint yourself. Therefore, even if I have been personally responsible for certain outcomes in my life that were unfavorable, I can look in the mirror and say, "I have not been harmed". You can say, "something amazing is going to come out of this". It's like when Jesus tells us in the scripture:
Behold, I give you authority and power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses and nothing shall by any means harm you. Luke 10:19 ampc
I quoted that scripture for years, but yet somehow, anytime someone did something deeply hurtful, or if I was misunderstood I felt like I had been dealt a blow that sometimes took weeks, months or in some cases years to get over. Many times, those hurts and wounds go into unconscious places. We are not aware of them so we think they are not affecting us, but they are still there.
Once I understood that power was in my hands, then the Lord began to do what my best friend says, "He changed my mind about my mind". In other words, I don't have to say I have been injured just because I've been hurt emotionally. Being hurt is an emotion and it can be deadly. It depends on you where that emotion is going to go. Just because my feelings are hurt, does not mean that what has occurred has one bit of power to affect your life unless I come into agreement with it.
Just because the enemy sought to destroy you, doesn't mean you are destroyed. Whatever he did, it was designed to take you completely out of the game. But the power of God to strengthen and sustain is always greater than the enemy's ability to do you harm. He cannot win. This may be a dramatic description of the point I am trying to make here, but when the enemy motivated people to crucify Jesus, his physical body experienced tremendous damage, but he still didn't harm him. Harm would be if he could have stopped Jesus from saving the world. That would have been tremendous harm and serious damage of major proportions.
When I understood this truth, it changed my life. I can't be harmed, because nothing and no one has the power to keep me from fulfilling my destiny unless I give it to them. I am, "Uninjured". The song said, "The Devil thought he had me, but I got away.
The other attribute of this word which is fascinating is, "undisturbed sleep". People speak of sleeping soundly. How many people do you know have trouble getting a good night's sleep. According to the CDC, "Insufficient sleep is a public health epidemic in America." When you are not sleeping soundly you cannot function properly. It's hard to lose weight, it's hard to advance in life, it's hard to focus and concentrate on anything.
Having a Sound Mind
Based on Rick Renner's study of the word used for sound in the bible, 2 Timothy 1:7 could read:
“God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love — He has given you a mind that has been delivered, rescued, revived, salvaged, protected, and brought into a place of safety and security so that it is no longer affected by illogical, unfounded, and absurd thoughts.”
Financially Solid and Safe
The majority of Americans (65%) are losing sleep over money issues, according to a new study from CreditCards.com — up from 56% in 2007. This is connected to what I said earlier. People are losing sleep because they feel anxiety about money issues.
Father, I repent today for coming into agreement with the idea of being injured, as though what people do to me is greater than who you are in me. Forgive me for the thoughts I embraced that that said because someone did something to me, therefore I am harmed. I repent for allowing myself to feel victimized. I recognize that you are greater than the words people speak and actions they take to destroy me or my destiny.
Father, I decree and declare that I am embracing the truth that I am sound in every way. Every area of my life is experiencing soundness. I am sound physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially, relationally and experientially. I decree that my sleep is sound. I get the rest my body needs and when I awake I am refreshed, restored, rejuvenated and ready to start my day. I am sound financially. My decisions, character and interpersonal relationships reflect that I am sound of mind and body. I make wise investments. I'm a saver, not a spender, I am a producer and not a consumer. I am able to focus and concentrate powerfully so that I can accomplish my daily tasks and perform everything required of me and more. I have more than enough. My heart is sound and I refuse any mind set that would tell me I have been injured or harmed to the point that I cannot fulfill my God-given purpose and destiny. I decree and declare that not only am I sound, but I release soundness of finances, relationships and destiny to my family members and all those who are connected to me spiritually or naturally.
