Meaning of Glorious: [Cambride.Org]
Very beautiful or glorious
Deserving admonition, praise, honor
Ephesians 5:27 in The Passion Translation says,
All the he does in us is designed to make us a mature church for his pleasure, until we become a source of praise to him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw.
Positionally, Jesus has already presented us to the Father as an unblemished and glorious, but experientially, we have to work that out in our lives every day. Remember the scripture that reminds us to work out our salvation with fear and with trembling. It is a blessing to know how God sees us through his Son and through the Blood of his son that was laid on the altar bringing us into an everlasting covenant. But we should never become careless with that knowledge and fail to walk in meekness and humility before the Lord. Asking the Lord to show us where we are missing the mark so that we can repent and come into harmony with the holiness of God.
I like to think of being “glorious” to being filled with God’s glory. As priests and kings in the kingdom we are to be carriers of God’s glory. Like the “Ark of the Covenant” in the Old Testament, we are now living vessels that carry the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 inThe Passion Translation says it this way,
We are like common clay jars that cary this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.
Our human vessel may be common, but what we are carrying inside of us is glorious. And though we may experience all kinds of pressure and opposition it is good to remember that in the Old Testament wherever the ark of the covenant went there were blessings and divine protection. It is an honor and a privilege that the Lord would inhabit us allowing His glory to fill our temples as we live in the expectation of his coming.
My Father and My God. I worship you. You are highly exalted. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Thank you for filling us with your presence. Let us experience your glory upon our lives and in our lives daily. Grant us visitations that turn into habitations. Give us the anointing that makes practicing your presence and carrying your glory come as natural to us as breathing air. Let us Father daily walk in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord continually. Let us not ever become over familiar with your presence and may we esteem and acknowledge your lovingkindness and goodness all the days of our lives.
