I am Beautiful, I am Consummate in the Eyes of My Father
Meaning of Consummate: [www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/consummate]
Complete, finished or masterful, the ultimate
Always in every prayer of mind for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring is to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
There is nothing left for God to do. He has blessed us with every spiritual, given by the Holy Spirit blessing in heavenly places. When Paul began to reveal the mystery of the gospel, which was, “Christ in us, the Hope of Glory”, it literally revolutionized the thinking of that day.
Where do you go from there. With Christ available to us and living with us that is the ultimate. That is reaching completion or perfection within. With man it is impossible, but not with God for with God all things are possible. Paul puts it this way,
God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”.
Based on gotquestions.org, In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon certain people to empower them for service, but then He would leave again. New Testament believers have a different experience, as the Spirit indwells us permanently. The permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit given to the New Testament believers was a “mystery” to the Old Testament saints. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to live within us, never to leave (John 14:16-18). Jesus told HIs disciples, “on that day you will realize that I am in my Father … and I am in you” (John 14:20)
The Holy Spirit seals us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). In other words, the Spirit’s presence in our hearts guarantees our ultimate salvation. God will continue to work in us until He is finished perfecting us. This forward-looking guarantee of perfection iw what is meant by “Christin you, the hope of glory.”
The hope of glory is the fulfillment of God’s promise to restore us and all creation. This hope is not a wishful thought, but the confident, expectant, joyful knowledge that we are being changed by God and will one day see Christ face to face, having been conformed to His image.
Father, I thank you that you are making a masterpiece of my life. I thank you seeing me through the eyes of Jesus’ finished work on the cross. I thank you that we are consummate in that we are the conclusion, the result of the perfect salvation that you wrought for us through Jesus Christ. Father I thank you that the action of your power that is at work within us is able to carry out your purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our heist prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams in Jesus name. Amen
