Having the power to do or accomplish.
Joshua in the Bible faced a challenge. He, along with the children of Israel had been following Moses for many years. But the day came when Moses died and Joshua had to rise up and lead the people of God into the promised land. There will come a time in your life where something, or someone, you have followed and relied upon, will die. I am not talking about physical death only. It can be the ending of one phase and the opening of another with new opportunities and challenges. The old situation (Moses) will die. The relationship may not end in physical death like with Moses, but God will change the dynamics of the relationship. It is at that time that you will have to come forth as a leader in your own right. On top of that you may not only have to lead yourself into your own personal promised land, you may have to lead others as well. Always remember what gets you to one point in your life, may not be what, or who, God is going to use to take you into another phase or transition.
God will expect you to rise to the occasion. He will expect you to look to Him as Abraham had to when he told him to leave his country and his people to go to where, God said, "I will send you." God didn’t even tell him where he was going. He just said, basically, “Get your family, get your stuff and go”.
Joshua had experienced Moses powerfully deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. He knew Moses’ capabilities, but now it would be his time to take the people further.
If this is where you are, then know, that just like Joshua, God has already fully prepared you to enter into your promises land. Release your faith in the abilities that God has placed in you. The God that Paul spoke about who is well able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ask or think is living inside of you. As you go forward to apprehend all that God has for you, remember these words that he told Joshua from Joshua 1:8.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
He further told Joshua, Joshua 1:5 (NIV)
No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Dear Father, I thank you for all of the anointing and capabilities you have invested in my life. Now I call forth the rivers of living waters to flow out of my belly to flood every area of my being and to swallow up incapability with capability. I agree with your word that says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I agree with your word that says that Jesus Christ has become unto me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. Old things have passed away, behold all things are become new.
