Whether you were aware of it or not, the minute you became a Christian, you were enlisted in an army. You may not have even known that you had an enemy, but he definitely knew about you and he devised a plan to circumvent your life away from God’s plans in order to put you on a path of destruction. God has an appointment for you, but the enemy has an assignment against your life. The way I see it is if you have to be a soldier, you might as well be a warrior and a champion like David was. David was fearless and courageous though very young. All of those years tending the sheep and worshipping God alone in the evening forged a warrior that would become a king. The Bible said, the Lord is a man of war. We are made in His image, therefore, we must like a good fight too. The best thing about that it that we don’t have to be to worried about the war because the outcome has already been determined. But, there are still little battles that must be fought. God has built a champion inside of you. Like Gideon, God will show you that with Him on your side even the mightiest of armies can and will come down.
Father your word says that you are a man of war, who teaches me to fight. You teach my hands to war and my fingers to fight. Father you told me that I have spiritual weapons that are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. Father, you told David that he could pursue, overtake and without fail recover everything that was stolen from him by his enemies. Father, I thank you for creating in my the heart of a champion on like David. Lord I thank you for giving me the anointing that makes my prayers powerful and effective as wear the armor that you have given me for spiritual warfare. I thank you my I have on the helmet of salvation, my loins are girt about with truth, I have on the breastplate of righteousness, my feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel, I have the shield of faith and the sword which the Spirit wields, I am covered in Your armor to withstand all the schemes of the enemy but also to fight offensively with my shield of faith and my sword which is the word of God. I thank you for the heart of a champion who like David will go forth fearlessly into battle knowing that you will cause me to prevail through you in every battle.
